7th Grade Latin

Salve!

 In 7th grade, you will learn the basics of the Latin language, along with some daily life customs of the ancient Romans. 

In this class you won't be learning how to order a baguette at the bakery, or how to describe your clothing. Instead, you'll be reading exciting short stories about a family living in Pompeii. Everyone's favorite characters are Caecilius, Grumio, and the dog, Cerberus! There's always drama going on with Metella and Melissa, and don't get me started on Clemens, the girlfriend-stealer! 

Topics of study will include: home styles, occupations, trade in the forum, the city of Pompeii, ancient theatre, and some insight into laws and their justice system.

In class, you'll be able to work with other classmates to read the stories and complete activities to demonstrate your understanding. We play games, have contests, give presentations, create projects, and play Gimkit to help learn new vocabulary.
