Yummy Food and Drink

Content Description

Students will be introduced to general kinds of food including main food/ snack, meat/ vegetable, Chinese/Western food and some drinks. They will talk about the colors and tastes of the food and indicate their /other’s favorite food.

In this unit Awesome Animals, students will learn about selected animals. They will begin by learning how to say the 12 animals found in the Chinese zodiac. Building on this, they will be able to describe the animals’ appearance, sounds, movements, eating habits, and the places they live. To culminate, students will orally introduce their favorite animal.

Knowledge, Skills and Process

At the end of this unit, students will be able to:

· Name different kind of fruits, food, and drinks and describe one’s preferences

· Answer questions about food and drink.

· Comprehend simple stories about eating and drinking when listening and reading

· Retell simple stories in Chinese

· Describe the eating habits of animals and other information such as color and appearance
