The Working Articles Forum—An online discussion of cool articles about life beyond high school.
Read the article or articles assigned to your group. Then, compose a thoughtful response that:
* Responds to at least one person’s writing who posted before you. Feel free to quote other student’s writing.
* Makes a direct reference to the articles being discussed. Feel free to quote the article or author.
And... your forum post should do at least two of the following, focusing on the article, or other articles that get added to the conversation:
1. Comment—What strikes you as most significant, interesting, relevant, etc. What resonates with you? Why?
2. Question—Pose questions about the work itself.
3. Link & Look for—Share a link to a relevant site (article, video, audio, etc.), and tell us what makes it relevant or interesting (i.e., what to look for)
4. Answer & Explain—Look for questions others have posted or questions raised by the article itself. What answers can you provide?
5. Challenge—What do you take issue with? What do you disagree with? Why?
6. Critique & Evaluate—What is “good” about the article? What could be better? Why do you feel this way?
There are six people in your group. Make sure that each thread in the forum includes at least one of each of the above list (Comment, Question, etc.) for every six posts. Feel free to divide this up among your group.
