We began to imagine ourselves as empathetic, human-centered designers. Borrowing (okay, stealing) from the Stanford Design School, we completed the Wallet Design mini-project and examined the Embrace project.
Students designed handbags, flexible technological marvels, armbands, solar-powered watch-wallets, waterproof money cases, and much, much more. Most impressive was the quantum leap in creativity when they moved beyond designing the “ideal wallet” and instead embraced the challenge to design a novel solution for a person.
