Is it safe to go in the water?
In this project, we will conduct original research into the safety, health and overall status of our local coastal ecosystem and watersheds. We will then respond to this information in the manner of professionals from a variety of Humanities disciplines.
You will need to visit various off-campus locations frequently throughout this project. Please sign and return the attached permission slip as soon as possible.
In Humanities, you have four choices for your final product, but all Humanities products share some expectations in common and all Humanities students will turn in a written element to their final product. Examples of and written product includes (but is not limited to): a script or transcript of a video, a written article, artist's statement, captions and supporting writing for a photo essay.

Critiques
Critiques, both formal and informal, are an invaluable part of the process of creating a high quality final product. You will participate in a minimum of three formal critiques during the course of Media Saves the Beach. Here are the minimum expectations for what you will provide at each critique:
Critique #1—Nov. 5
The beginnings of work samples, such as a rough draft of an article, a series of sketches of art, storyboards, and/or written brainstorming of your project .
An outline of your written work.
Your google calendar.
A specific professional example from which you draw inspiration.
Critique #2—Nov. 19
A complete draft of your work (i.e., a rough cut of a video, photographs, a draft of an article, etc.).
A complete draft of your written work.

A complete, functioning, highly revised draft of your work.
