Make an Appointment

You may schedule three appointments per week.

If this is your first visit to The Writing Center, please create a new account. Once logged in, you will be able to make an appointment with any of our consultants and a confirmation e-mail will be sent to you. 

Changing Appointments from In-Person to Online

If you would like to adjust your appointment from in-person to online or vice-versa, you must do so at least 24 hours prior to your appointment. Email us at tutors@hawaii.edu to notify us about any appointment changes.

Cancellation Policy

In order to ensure that everyone is able to use the Writing Center, we ask that you cancel or reschedule appointments at least 20 hours prior to your appointment. You may reschedule or cancel your appointment by logging into your account.

• Any cancellations within 30 minutes will count as a “no show.”

• If you are more than 15 minutes late to your appointment, it will count as a “no-show.”

• If you accumulate two no-shows, your Writing Center account will be disabled, and you will be unable to schedule any further appointments. To have your account reactivated and your ability to schedule appointments regained, you will be required to email and possibly meet with the Assistant Director of the Writing Center. If you accumulate a third no-show, your account will be disabled for the remainder of the semester.

Clients will meet with Writing Center consultants for online appointments on the MyWC online tutoring platform, accessed through their web browser, at their scheduled appointment time. The tutoring platform supports text, audio, and video communication.
