Our Kilo ʻĀina students presented their research projects at a small symposium this morning. Our 14 students have worked alone or in groups of three on different projects around Puʻuloa or Kalaeloa Wildlife Refuge. Some have worked in collaboration with staff from US Fish & Wildlife Service, Bishop Museum or Hui O Hoʻohonua. They gave four presentations grouped according to their projects: 1. Insects of Kalaeloa, 2. Bird Bones of Kalaeloa; 3. Plankton of Puʻuloa, 4. Plant Restoration of Kapapapuhi Point Park. All students did amazing and impressed us all, even more attendees who did not know the students or their projects before. Nice job everybody!!!
After the presentations the students received their certificates and we finished the symposium and the semester with a potluck.
