Fibre Broadband

Fibre Broadband has been available to the top half of the estate for some time, but is now available to the bottom half of the estate too.

In theory, you can now get speeds of up to 78Mbps - as a comparison, current broadband is sold as up to 8 or 16 Mbps. In reality, you're looking at about ten times the speed of whatever you get on current broadband.

Check on the BT Website for an estimate based on your phone number and postcode.

Plenty of places offer Fibre, but not all the same as those that offer 'ADSL' broadband. Some examples are BT, Plusnet, Sky, Zen Internet and IDNet. If you're willing to switch your phone line rental to these places too, then the offers are usually much better.

The cost is from less than twenty pounds a month, to £45 a month and higher, depending on the type of service that you want.
