Performance Tours

The Music Department has a long history of its ensembles participating in national music festivals and international performance tours. In the past 15 years, more than a dozen trips have been planned and executed by our various ensembles including many international tours and music exchanges. These trips require extensive additional rehearsal time and fundraising commitment by music student participants.

In April 2013, the Footnotes undertook their fifth performance tour to Joigny, France. Initiated in 1998 as part of a sister-city relationship between Hanover and Joigny, the HHS Music Dept. has had several student ensembles (vocal and instrumental) participate in this cultural exchange opportunity. Follow the group on their trip blog Footnotes in Joigny 2013 as they showcase vocal repertoire in major cathedrals, village churches and performance halls in the Paris-to-Joigny region.

In March 2011, thirty Wind Ensemble and Jazz Combo students participated in the Music Dept.'s third music exchange program with KRG high school in Neustadt, Germany. Check out the highlights on their trip blog at Germany Music Exchange.
