Dining Discount

As an employee of Hacienda, you are granted special privileges regarding restaurant food.

After 30 days of employment, each employee is eligible for a 50% discount at all Hacienda Mexican Restaurants. This is good at any time, and for a party of up to 6 people including the employee. The employee must present a photo ID at Hacienda and tip at least 18% of the bill before discount is expected. This privilege does not include alcohol or carry out.

All employees are permitted to receive one free small wet burrito of their choice (limited selection) prior to or immediately after their shift. 

Employees may also purchase all other menu items at 50% off the menu price prior to or immediately after their shift. Food must be paid for upon ordering.

**You are encouraged to eat your Hacienda food at the restaurant and only carry it out if necessary.**

Employee Assistance Program

All employees are eligible to participate in this mental health benefit. It is a special program designed by Hacienda and La Senorita and local mental health centers to provide confidential service to employees and their family members with personal problems like alcoholism, drug abuse and dependency, stress, depression, etc. The program provides up to six counseling sessions per family member annually from June 1st through May 31st (plan year).

Retirement Plan

The 401(k) Employee Savings Plan allows you to save money for retirement in two ways: 

1. 401(k) Pre-tax deduction % or $$ amount each payroll. Save taxes now, pay taxes later when you access your money.

2. Roth After-tax deduction % or $$ amount each payroll. Pay taxes now, no taxes to pay later when you access your money.

Hacienda matches 25% of the first $3,000 of deductions you deposit into your 401(k) account on both your 401(k) deduction and/or your Roth deduction. The money you put in is always your money and you always receive 100% of that. The money Hacienda saves for you, will be earned when you have worked 3 years (must work 1,000 hours per year to qualify). That’s a match of $750 in free money, per year, if you put in at least $3,000 per year.

Employees of Hacienda are eligible to join the 401(k) Employee Savings Plan if they are at least 18 years of age and have completed six months of continuous service. You may sign up as an active member on the earliest January 1 or July 1 on which you meet these requirements. A copy of this Plan is available at the Restaurant Support Center or on the ADP Portal at myadp.com.

Holiday Pay

Because of the nature of our business, the restaurant will remain open on certain holidays. Should it be necessary for you to work on those days, you will receive premium pay. Tipped employees will receive their regular rate of pay plus one-half the minimum wage hourly rate for every hour they work on a holiday. Other employees will receive one and one-half times their regular rate of pay for those hours worked on a holiday.

The following are considered holidays for the purpose of calculating premium pay:

Scholarship Program

The employee scholarship program accepts applications annually from January 1st through April 1st. We are committed to awarding $1,000 scholarships each year to qualified employees or children of employees of HMR Acquisition Co., Inc. 

Our goal is to assist employees with financial aid for higher education, to encourage the pursuit of higher education, and to contribute indirectly to the support of educational institutions. 

Scholarship Eligibility Criteria

If you are unsure if you meet the qualifications, please double check with your Manager BEFORE submitting your application.

Eligible recipients must be either: 

1. The dependent children (unmarried child, step child or adopted child, under age 24) of HMR employees who have completed at least 90 days and have worked an average of 20 hours a week during the most recent 90-day time period. 

2. Employees of HMR who have completed at least 90 days of employment and have worked an average of 20 hours a week during the most recent 90-day time period. 

Scholarship winners will be chosen in April of each year by the College Scholarship Board. The selection of winners will be based on a combination of the applicant’s leadership experiences, work experiences and character evidenced. 

All applicants will be notified of the results of the competition in May. Winners must enroll in an accredited, not-for-profit college, university, vocational or technical institute as a student in the fall of the same calendar year that the scholarship is awarded. Checks will be issued to the institution only, not the winning individual.
