Strings Program at The Fine Arts Center
The Fine Arts Center offers a distinctive and comprehensive approach to string education in the United States. At the heart of our curriculum is a daily chamber music class, designed to foster not only technical proficiency but also essential skills in rehearsal techniques, performance artistry, communication, advanced musicianship, and musical decision-making.
Throughout the academic year, students perform in multiple formal public concerts, both at the school and within the broader community. Our program is enriched by guest artist master classes, providing students with the opportunity to learn from renowned musicians and expand their artistic perspectives.
Musical Literature & Ensembles:
The course material includes a challenging technical regimenand performances of solo and chamber music of professional caliber. Students engage in a wide range of chamber ensembles, performing repertoire from the Baroque Erathrough to premiere works by contemporary composers, including our very own FAC Composer in Residence, Samuel Hunter.
By participating in such a diverse array of musical experiences, our students are prepared to excel both individually and collaboratively, gaining the critical tools necessary for success in today's musical landscape.
