If you child seems more stressed than usual, talk to them about what is going on in their brains. Here are some tips for parents:

     -Reassure your child that they are safe and give extra hugs.

     -Sometimes it is best to turn off the TV and not watch Tik Tok.

     -Listen to their worries and have them practice blowing their worries into an imaginary balloon then imagine the balloon floating away.

YOU'VE GOT THIS:

You can manage your stress by taking time to take care of yourself. Stop and breathe. Think positive. Your children know when you are stressed. Model good calming habits.

KEEP THINGS IN PERSPECTIVE:

Set limits on how much time you spend reading or watching news about stressful events. But make sure to take time away from the news to focus on things in your life that are going well and that you can control.

KEEP YOURSELF HEALTHY:

ƒ Eat healthy foods, and drink water.

ƒ Avoid excessive amounts of caffeine and alcohol.

ƒ Do not use tobacco or illegal drugs.

ƒ Get enough sleep and rest.

ƒ Get physical exercise.
