Miss Kelly Dibelka
Media Specialist
Hello! I am currently in my 21st year working as a Library Media Specialist. I spent my first five years in Cedar Bluffs, Nebraska, at the K-12 school where I really learned a lot! Then, I came to Gretna, where I worked at Gretna Elementary, when it was the Kindergarten through 2nd grade building, for three years before Palisades opened. It was a lot of fun to open a brand new library at Palisades, where I have worked ever since. I feel like Palisades is the best place in the whole world for me to be! I love working with all of the students here.
My favorite part of my job is working with all of the students every day and talking about BOOKS. I love books and reading! I also love planning events for our school, like author visits and our One School, One Book program. We have great teachers at Palisades and I enjoy working with them to find what they need to help the students learn in the classrooms, as well!
I grew up in Omaha. My parents, Ray and Pat, still live in my childhood home. I have one brother, Andy, who is married to Heather. I have a niece, Allison, who is 9. She is a lot of fun. She is big sister to Brett and Kelsey, who are 5. I spend a lot of time in the evenings and on weekends with my boyfriend, Rusty, and my entire family. I am thankful that we all live near each other! We have a lot of fun together and they like to come help me at school, too, so you may see them around!

I’m so excited to be working in the library this year! This will be my sixth year at Palisades. I spent my first three years working as a paraprofessional in the preschool room. In the library it is fun, not only to see the kids I worked with in preschool, but to get to know ALL the kids at Palisades!
My family moved here from Minnesota in 2013. We really like it here! My husband Garrett and I just celebrated our 17th wedding anniversary. Our daughter Kylie is in 8th grade at Gretna Middle School. We have an adorable dog named Simon that is very spoiled.
In my free time, I like to play piano, read, watch tv/movies, play games, and take walks with my family.
