About My Experience

I am a BACP accredited psychotherapist/counsellor and EMDR therapist with over sixteen years experience, also trained to run the 8 week Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy course, which I have facilitated many times. In recent years, I have been exploring the psychology of the climate crisis, and through workshops with The Work That Reconnects and facilitating Active Hope book study groups (the book by Joanna Macy and Chris Johnstone) I can offer support in this area too. I recently completed the training to facilitate Climate Cafe's with the CPA (Climate Psychology Alliance).

I offer individual counselling sessions and one-to-one mindfulness  training in Stewkley, which is just 5 miles from Leighton Buzzard, and about ten miles from Aylesbury and Milton Keynes, and also online (Zoom, Skype or Whatsapp video).

I can also be commissioned for group mindfulness sessions, or climate awareness support sessions.

As a counsellor I have a broad range of experience, working with clients experiencing stress, relationship problems, trauma, anxiety and depression, abuse, disordered eating, bereavement and work related issues. It could be that you simply want a space to explore what is going on for you, without maybe a specific thing to focus on: just feeling unhappy and dis-satisfied with life. You may simply want to see an experienced counsellor/psychotherapist, or you may be interested in the fact that I can bring mindfulness into the work too. Or perhaps in this time of increasing climate crisis, you would like to explore feelings around it. Either way, my approach is to adapt to what is most useful for you, in either short term or longer term work.

A particular focus of my work is on trauma and EMDR is incredibly useful here, with the possibility of reducing distress from unprocessed trauma, which can cause us physical as well as mental health problems.
