Nursery

The Nursery is divided into 2 full time classes with a part time class added in January each year.

Class 1– Miss Joyce, Miss Abercrombie, Mrs Davies.

Class 2– Mrs Edwards, Miss Abercrombie, Mrs Kahl, Mrs Jarman and Miss Carstairs.

Class 3 (mornings only)– will be Miss Abercrombie in January.

In the Spring term, we will be focusing on Nursery rhymes. We will introduce a new rhyme weekly. Some of these include 5 Little Ducks, Old MacDonald had a Farm, Little Miss Muffet, The Grand Old Duke of York, Hickory Dickory Dock and Twinkle Twinkle Little Star.

Rhymes play a huge role in developing children’s speech and language skills. Rhymes provide children with the opportunity to feel rhythm and have fun with words. They also help children to learn to read, talk and write. All full time children will receive a ‘ Time to Rhyme’ pack made by the Book Trust. The packs inform parents of the rhymes we are learning and provide activities, flashcards, rhyme sheets and posters to use at home.
