Our Curriculum
The Glastonbury Public Schools K-12 Health and Physical Education curriculum is standards-based curriculum using the National Health Education Standards and the National Standards and Grade Level Outcomes for K-12 Physical Education. The goal of the program is to equip each student health and physical literacy skills to live healthy and active lives.
Health Literacy
Health literacy is defined as the capacity of an individual to obtain, interpret, and understand basic health information and services and the competence to use such information and services in ways that are health-enhancing.
Physical Literacy
Physical literacy is defined as the ability to move with competence and confidence in a wide variety of physical activities in multiple environments that benefit the healthy development of the whole person.
