Ray Aguilar

El nombre del hombre es Ray Aguilar. He was born in Grand Island in 1947. He had many brothers and sisters and grew up in a very close family. Ray graduated from Grand Island Senior High School and attended Central Community College. Ray was married in 1973 and has nine children.

Ray worked in different companies as a manager and as a building and grounds director at Central Catholic School. He later owned his own commercial cleaning service.

Ray was very active and involved in many local and state groups. He served on the National Hispanic Council of State Legislators, an Immigration Task Force. Central Nebraska Area Health Education Center. He was a former member of many community groups such as the American Red Cross, Lincoln School PTA (past president), Mayor's Youth Council, Grand Island Little Theater, and the Habitat for Humanity. Ray also served on the Grand Island City Council.

Ray became the first Hispanic to ever serve in the state's law-making body when he was appointed to represent the 35th Nebraska legislative district. He was reelected in 2004 and served until the Spring of 2008.

Ray Aguilar has helped the people in his community and his state. He has made a difference in many people's lives. He has set an important example for people in the Hispanic community by showing how one person can become involved in their community and help others.
