Here are the details for Music Department Awards Night:
What: Music Department Awards Night
When: Tuesday, 5/12, 7:00 p.m. in the JDS Gym (yes - the 7th graders will be getting back from a field trip around 6:00 so it will be a long day for them, but this night avoided conflicts with other events). Lab Band, Jazz Band, and Show Choir students should arrive by 6:45.
Wear: With the exception of Show Choir, students are not required to wear any specific clothing for this event.
Who: 6th grade LAB band, 7th/8th grade JAZZ band, and 7th/8th grade Show Choir are required to attend because they are performing. All other music students are invited but their attendance is not required; however, I hope they will come unless they have some other activity that prevents them from doing so.
Why: Lab Band, Jazz Band, and Show Choir will perform. ALL music students in grades 5-8 will be recognized and receive a small award for their participation in various groups this year. The event will be less than an hour and we will have cookies and drinks afterwards.
