Upcoming Events

• February 27, 2026 – Friday – ORGANIZATIONAL CONTEST, here at GHMS – All 6th, 7th, and 8th grade Band and Chorus students - performance times: Cadet Chorus: 7:25 PM, Concert Chorus: 7:50 PM, Cadet Band: 8:35 PM, Concert Band/Jazz Band: 9:25 PM - see below for details.

• March 13, 2026 – Friday – Band and Chorus Solo and Ensemble Contest at ICC – only for those band and chorus students who elect to participate (not required)

• All concerts and performances for the entire school year can be found on the Music Department Calendar page.  Please look over this list of dates, add them to your family calendar, and check with either director if you have any questions.

Announcements for the week of 2/16:

• Please see the Ensemble Expectations page for details about your child's participation in band and chorus.  

• Skyward grades are updated as of 2/15 at 1:45 p.m. Trimester 2 ends 2/20. Students can complete any missing assignments this week. Mr. Loring is also generally available during recess and after school if students need to see him in person.

• All band students need instruments and music at school on Tuesday.

• Jazz Band will rehearse on Thursday during lunch recess this week.

• Parent volunteers are needed for our hosting of the band/chorus contest on 2/27. Please use the following link to sign up. We have a variety of jobs open throughout the event. Most shifts are only around two hours. • ALL band students should take their instruments home on Friday, find two to three times to practice  at home over the weekend and Monday evening, and bring them back to school on Tuesday.
