So far this year we have spent time focusing on the concepts of pulse and rhythm. We have played a variety of grooves and songs with bucket drumming and are developing our rhythm reading abilities.
We will soon add recorder to our classroom activities. Your child will need a two piece recorder and the Essential Elements Recorder Method book for class.
You may already have a recorder at home. Please send it to school with your child so I can check to make sure it is an instrument that will work for class.

If your 5th grade child has an older sibling who was in this class in the past three years, they can use their equipment if you still have it.
These supplies could also be ordered through Amazon if you prefer but Kidder Music does specialize in school music programs.
