Sketchbook Policy
Sketchbook: Due the first Monday of class! No assignment will be accepted after this date that is not in a sketchbook!
A sketchbook is an artist’s tool to brainstorm and document the steps taken to complete a piece of work. In this process journal an artist creates various thumbnail sketches - or small trial and error pieces - for ideas and compositional issues. An individual will also record detailed step by step information as to how a piece was created, such as the mixture of hues, or dimension measurements. You will not only maintain such information in addition to your practice exercises, but may also utilize the tool to express personal interest as well. Experimental drawings of various subject matters, such as a family pet or a collage of engaging magazine ads are some examples that you may include in your sketchbook. Remember this is your book so you may personalize it how you wish. However, keep in mind that this is a school assignment and any inappropriate material will not be accepted, will result in a lower grade, and may be reported to guidance.
