Female cadets wear neck tabs while male cadets wear neckties.
A female cadet's belt is narrower than the male cadet's belt.
The male cadet's trousers have pockets while the female cadet's trousers don't have back pockets.

How to wear the Army JROTC Female Class B Uniform

A female cadet always has the medals 1/8 of an inch below the ribbon rack parallel to the nameplate with DUI or Academic Wreath 1/4 of an inch above the nameplate. When wearing the Class B uniform without a tie you have the first button unbuttoned. A cadet can only wear two cords at one time with one cord on each shoulder. Arcs are in alphabetical order and 1/8 inch between each. Arcs are at the fourth button. Cloth ranks are not worn on windbreakers.

How to wear the Army JROTC Male Class B Uniform

A male cadet always has the medals on the pocket flap while the ribbon rack is above the pocket with to the nameplate on the other pocket flap and the DUI or Academic Wreath above the pocket flap. When wearing the Class B uniform without a tie you have the first button unbuttoned. A cadet can only wear two cords at one time with one cord on each shoulder. Arcs are in alphabetical order and 1/8 inch between each. Arcs are on the pocket. Cloth ranks are not worn on windbreakers.
