We had a busy week in the library last week!
First, we had Catherine Fowler speak to 3rd graders about the History of Frisco!
Catherine Fowler's presentation is such an amazing experience for students. She begins the story of Frisco in pioneer times and leads the students through events and anecdotes she has researched to the present day!
Mrs. Fowler also brings artifacts from the earlier years of Frisco for students to play with.
Students distinguish between pioneer and pilgrim with an interactive timeline!
Students learn about a game they might have played as pioneer children.
On Friday, we welcomed Janet and Jake Tashjian!
The students were so excited to hear them speak after learning about their books and viewing some of the interview videos. Some students even ordered books for them to autograph!
Janet and Jake spoke about their "writers' secrets" - including using events from real life and making things up!
Jake even drew a few vocabulary words My Life as a ...-style!!
We want to send a BIG THANK YOU to our visitors. We hope you enjoyed your time at Borchardt!
