What We're Learning

• Writing -  students will finish their Student Choice Essays, and they will begin sharing their Canva presentations with the class.

  • Spelling List: NO SPELLING LIST!!

  • Grammar/OLC: Students will practice and review OLC from throughout the year.

• Reading  - Students will complete a book report for our last novel, Tuck Everlasting.

• Science - Students will review various TEKS covered throughout the year. 

• Math -The students will complete a lucky number project using number sense, measurement, and geometry.

• Social Studies - Students will continue learning about topics related to the 21st century such as the War on Terror and the 2008 presidential election.

• End of Year Dress Up Days! Please see below for a flyer on what to wear each day!

• 5th Grade Yearbook Signing Day!!

  • Have your student bring their yearbook on Tuesday, May 19th so that they can have their friends sign their yearbook! If your student didn't purchase a yearbook we will provide them with an autograph page that day.

• Planning to Attend the Celebration of Learning at 8:00 on 5/22? You can register early here.

• . Please note early registration closes on 5/19 at noon.

• End of Year Daily Celebrations!

  • Monday: Hawaiian Dress Up Day. Bring a pillow, flashlight, blanket and book

  • Tuesday: Sports Gear Dress Up Day. Bring yearbook and pen for book signing

  • Wednesday: Wear pajamas and bring a favorite snack

  • Thursday: Wear bright colors. Students will get extra brain break and recess

  • Friday: Graduation Day! Dress nicely and be ready to celebrate your year! 

• Gunstream Volunteer Form: VOLY form

  • This is for any school events that require a background check, such as Watch DOGS, or volunteers for health screening and other related events. 

• Student Goals: The students have created and are working hard on achieving a goal they have set for themselves this semester or school year. Please encourage them and ask them what they have set for themselves to accomplish. We will be honoring and highlighting many students this year based on goal success and growth!
