1st Nine Weeks

Directions: You may complete one activity from each of the three options below for up to thirty points extra credit. Extra credit is completely optional but highly encouraged! Students are reminded to complete any make-up work, missing assignments, and current classwork BEFORE working on extra credit assignments.

• • Writing Option (10 points): Write the introductory paragraph for a prompt from the SOL Writing Prompt list (in your binder). Must be legible (handwritten or typed) and edited for capitalization, punctuation, grammar, and spelling. You may choose from the following prompts: #3, #5, #7, #9, #11, #13

  • Reading Option (10 points): Pretend you are the artist for the cover of the book you just read. Design a new cover. Include the title and author. Use symbols/images to represent the setting, main characters, major conflict, and theme. Incorporate one significant quotation from the story. Be sure to use quotation marks and the page number where the quotation appears.

  • Grammar Option (10 points): Visit brainpop.com and complete the quiz for any of the following videos: Conjunctions, Dialogue, I vs. Me, Punctuation, Semicolons, Tenses. E-mail your quiz results to me @fcpsstudent.us
