GARY GOWER´S LADDER POUCHEL

We hear from GARY GOWER May 14, 2001

Hi POU RENEW,

Daniel Dalby (Pouchel designer) is working on a two place... Hope you get in touch with him and/or with Yvan Pillonel (blue plane) or Christofe (red plane).

I had no trouble with the ladders here, the only difference is that in France the steps are square tube and here are round tube,  Also another difference is the distance between center of steps,  here (and also in USA) are one foot distance (0.30 meter) and the French ladder is about 0.28 meter so the difference is about 7/8" shorter each step.

When building, we just need to make the adjustments, in my Pouchel the rear wing got about (6") farther back, because of this difference, but I made a "U" cut in the wing and solved it, it worked with me in a positive manner, because as the 1/2VW motor is heavier, this will help me with the weight and balance.

In building the wings there is no problem because each rib goes in each step, so they just are less than an inch more space between them, no big deal.

Also I was told that all the aluminum used in ladders is the same quality worldwide, there is a standard certification of a ladder builders association or something like that.

I will add more photos every few days.

Saludos

Gary Gower
