This is a list of sketchbook assignment descriptions for the year. Due dates will be posted on Google Classroom, but if you are bored you can work ahead on these!
Sketchbook assignments make up 20% of your grade!
SB1: Name design for storage space
In media of choice, make it cool and express you or something you like!
SB2: Food in Detail
Food in Detail
-Focus on realism
-Must have shading and details
-Considering intriguing angle of food
-Is part of it eaten or melted?
SB3: Animal you identify with
-Focus on realism
-Must have details (value changes and textures)
SB4: An Elderly Person
-Must include shading and details including wrinkles.
Semester 2
SB5: “Be Where You Are” portrait cutouts
-Start by drawing yourself (may include a friend or another person) in pencil
-Add color with watercolor pencils (in class)
-Using an exacto knife, carefully cut out areas of clothing and accessories
-Homework: Take your portrait on a journey! Explore several different surfaces with your drawing and a camera. Experiment with various colors, patterns, and textures by holding up or placing your drawing in different locations. Email me your 5 best photos at bdavis@fchs.net, so I can put together a powerpoint of our class’ work for critique!
SB6: Your dream vacation destination due!
Draw your dream vacation destination! Where would you love to visit? You may choose a single image to draw from (that fills the entire page) or include several images together. For example, the Charleston bridge with Rainbow Row of houses and ocean view, etc.)
