This is a list of sketchbook assignment descriptions for the year. Due dates will be posted on Google Classroom, but if you are bored you can work ahead on these!
Sketchbook assignments make up 20% of your grade!
SB1: Name Design
**Must adequately use the space of the page and be completed in color or at minimum black ink or marker
-Things to consider:
1. Does the font represent you? Are the letters consistent or each different?
2. Is your design balanced?
3. How is it interesting? (Detail, contrast, pattern, etc...?)
4. Have you included a background? (Not required)
SB2: Shoe from Observation.
Drawn in pencil, include shading and details. No color necessary.
SB3: Create your own playing card!
Starting points: Be creative- consider who you want to be king, queen... who's a joker to you?
Requirements: Fills entire sketchbook page (8 1/2 x 11")
Completed in color and/or sharpie
SB4: Four (4) human noses. Include the following angles and label:
1) Profile view
2) Straight-On
3) 3/4's Turn
4) Your choice.
Draw in pencil and include shading.
SB5: Something morphing/turning into something else
-Must have shading/details
-Use space of page wisely
-Be creative: it does not have to occur in real life!
SB6: Fall scene OR spooky/fictional character. Must have detail and shading and be large enough to utilize the space of the page.
SB7: Two (2) leaves in color. Focus on realism: must have details, value changes. Draw leaves around the actual size they are.
SB8: Piece of furniture.
-Focus on perspective
-Must have shading and details
-Draw from life!
Semester 2- Art 1
SB9: Hallway perspective
-Must have:
Accurate angles and show depth (shading)
At least 3 other objects with detail (windows, doors, furniture, etc.)
SB10: Caricature of a person.
-Can be yourself, friend, or celebrity, etc.
-Use space of page and include fun details (what he/she likes to do/job)
-Exaggerate features (traditionally the head is enlarged)
SB11: Childhood toy or stuffed animal.
-Focus of texture and realism
-Must have shading and details
-Place somewhere (on a shelf, bed, etc.) and give a shadow
SB 12: Three (3) things that fly.
Try to make things work together in one picture. Must have shading and details.
SB 13: Something aging.
Can be a person, antique item, vintage car, etc. Must have shading and detail!
SB 14: A mythological creature of your choice (mermaid, centaur, dragon, etc.). Must have shading and details!
