The above video is an animation generated via solidworks that illustrates the degrees
of freedom the the support structure is capable of supplying.
The above video demonstrates the functionality of our double rotisserie prototype,
the concept that chose to move forward with. We continued onward with this design
because the careful placement of the load allowed for a naturally balanced system,
requiring minimal force to manipulate and lock the assembly into a desired position.
Above is a video demonstrating the functionality of our lock plane prototype, one of
our early design concepts that was subsequently discarded. This provided two rotary
degrees of freedom and vertical translation with the aid of rapid positioning nuts. This
design would require a counterbalancing mechanism to easily manipulate the mechanism.
