156B Week 8
Overview of Status of Analysis, Design, Fabrication, Tests, etc.
Convective heaters are completely machined and have been tested with success. We have tested both the convective heaters and extruding system separately with success in both individually. However there is still sometimes failure with the sealing system. We also purchased our injection system and it works for the most part but sometimes stalls at high pressure. Our last thing to do is build a mount for the convective heaters and then test the entire system.
Accomplishments from Previous Week
Finished designing the convective heaters and finished fabricating/machining them. We tested using the cartridge heater and had success with curing using the heaters and the heated bed. We purchased and tested the electronic syringe system and had some success but found some stalling.
Goals for Next Week (list names after each item). Use specific and measurable objectives.
Xin and Roger - analyze and fix the sealing problem that occurs sometimes.
Jason - continue testing the convective heater wings and design a mount for the system. Will start testing the entire system as a whole when it is complete
Harrison - work on making the contact.

Instructor Comments: Try to make the surface really smooth and use metal for the mixer
Actions taken: We build a metal insert that attaches to the mixer and should seal the extruder

Risks and Areas of Concern
We still have some pressure problem when trying to use nozzle size of 0.6mm. The fluid leaks out of the top.
