Overview of Status of Analysis, Design, Fabrication, Tests, etc.
Risk Reduction Presentation finished for final
Accomplishments from Previous Week
First CAD model of ramp made
Goals for Next Week (list names after each item). Use specific and measurable objectives.
Make more progress on designs for both ramp and blade - Everyone
Review results of risk reduction with sponsor
Move onto individual analysis components (3/25)
Take the results of risk reduction and apply them to further iterations of the ramp (4/3)
Perform similar risk reduction for an intubation tube/blade design (4/3)

Meeting on March 22
Ramp
talked about the concepts behind zero gravity chairs, use weight of head in levering
hinge could help avoid the quick, abrupt moves
talked about the possibility of using a dial for an infant, lever for an adult (ratchet back and forth)
Discussed the possibility of having an electronic readout to measure the angle
Blade
make a slightly wider blade at the end like a duck bill
possibly redesign the whole blade instead of making an attachment
can make centerpiece wider to flatten out tongue some more for bigger patients, like a tongue depressor
Instructor Comments from Last Meeting and Actions Taken to Address these Comments (indicate date of comments and if via email or in person)
Dr. Gravish: If we continue with the linear slider idea as shown in the risk reduction presentation, we need to find a way to make it much smoother
consider two degrees of freedom in ramp adjusting mechanism
Comments from Other Students in the Class (indicate date of comments and if via email or in person)
feedback from presentation:
liked physical demonstration of intubation tube in laryngoscope
Liked videos of intubation process to explain the project
great speaking and explanation
jamming might be a problem
could have explained more about other designs considered
Risks and Areas of Concern
jamming slider is too rough, so need an alternate method of changing angle
