T-handle welded onto insertion rod for ruggedness and manufacturability

Grips added to T-handle for user comfort

Digital display is mounted inside a protective metal case to prevent damage to unit

Insertion rod was field tested to ensure structural integrity

Clamp insert, threaded onto insertion rod, provides sensor rigidity for insertion

Ram rod clears path for ESI sensor; this avoids unnecessary stress on sensor

Clamp is custom made out of aluminium

Set-screws ensure sensor is rigid enough to be inserted into compost pile

• Through hole allows sensor wire to be hidden within structural insertion rod

• Welds are not along full length; less welding means less cost
