Posture Sensing Device: MAE 156B Week 4
Team Members: Wesley Chipeco, Martin Vega, Kevin Sperzel, Jesus Martinez
Overview of Status of Analysis, Design, Fabrication, Tests, etc.
Phone app:
• Added filter for our data output (tilt angle).
•Added calibrate button that user presses when they have good posture.
•Whenever user deviates more than 5 degrees from calibrated position a timer sets off to indicate how long bad posture is maintained.
•We are debating whether we should make phone vibrate instead of having physical vibration motor added to PCB.
PCB design:
•Frank is busy for the next 3 weeks.
•We 3D printed a couple of housing prototypes for Sensortag.
•Modifying Sensortag PCB ourselves for the meantime.
Accomplishments from Previous Week
We filtered data output and added calibrate functionality to our phone app. We also 3D printed prototype housing.
Goals for Next Week (list names after each item). Use specific and measurable objectives.
Kevin: PCB modification to Sensortag
Martin: PCB modification to Sensortag
Wesley: Add more functionality to phone app
Jesus: Add more functionality to phone app
Sponsor Comments from Last Meeting and Actions Taken to Address these Comments (Person, March, 15th 2016)
Sponsor provided information related to back posture. We will integrate medical information to determine optimal posture angle as there is many contradicting information related to what defines good posture.
Instructor Comments from Last Meeting and Actions Taken to Address these Comments (Week 3 2016 )
Professor Hoople suggested designing prototype housing and adding more functionality to phone app. As a result we have 3D printed two housing prototypes and added features to phone app.
Risks and Areas of Concern
Reaching our Week 5/6 deadline for PCB completion.
Describe upcoming milestone
