Overview of Status of Analysis, Design, Fabrication, Tests, etc.
Design Phase
Accomplishments from Previous Week
Decided on tires and placed ordered
Brainstormed ideas to reduce wheelchair width when wider tires are installed
Took apart the wheelchair and measured all critical dimensions for chassis re-design
4WD/traction analysis
Goals for Next Week (list names after each item). Use specific and measurable objectives.
Design and fabricate connection between drive shaft and wheel
Mount the all-terrain tires and perform tests noting effects from changing components
Fabricate chassis
CAD drawings each teammate has a part to draw
Sponsor Comments from Last Meeting and Actions Taken to Address these Comments (indicate date of comments and if via email or in person)
Turning radius is more important than top speed for indoor maneuverability
Recommends buying the back wheels because of they sink and drag in sand
Travel dates around Aug./Sept.
Air pressure in previous tires would go flat or punctured within 6 months
