Weekly Progress Reports (see sidebar), the Gantt chart, and this Project Management page should be printed out before meetings with the sponsor and instructor.
All team members should be able to explain all items on the progress report.
Place a "*" at the beginning of the title of the active week Progress Report (see * in sidebar).
Project Objectives
Concisely list and prioritize the project objectives and constraints
High Priority Objectives
The chair must be able to traverse sand normally without getting stuck
The chair must fit through doorways, and otherwise be of a convenient size of everyday use
The chair should retain most of its maneuverability; however, it does not need to have the current, very small, turning radius
Second Priority Objectives
Make the chair work on snow and gravel without slipping or getting stuck
Other Constraints and Issues
In modifying the chair, care needs to be taken so as not to raise its center of gravity too much to prevent the risk of tipping
Battery life
WOW Design Solution
Scott said that in an ideal case, our design would be some kind of attachment which can be put on the chair for off road conditions, and taken off for everyday use. However, he understands that this may not be the best, or most realistic solution, and understands if it is not what we end up designing.
Risk Reduction Strategy
Attempt disassemble of chair to see if wheels can be removed, and also how easy it is to remove and replace other components
Use the wheelchair in sand to see which parts get stuck and locate the main source of the problem
Intermediate Milestones
Design concept complete before quarter ends
