Overview of Status of Analysis, Design, Fabrication, Tests, etc.
Need to present three design solutions to Jaffe / Robert / Paul. Based on their input, we will order parts for testing.
Accomplishments from Previous Week
Confirmed three design concepts.
Each member completed and turned in their individual analysis on time.
Went to a hobby store to look for motors but there weren't many motors. (Austin)
E-mailed Professor Tustaniwskyj to inquire about a possible bladder system. (Myles)
Met with Steve Roberts (Myles) to discuss design options and motor recommendations
Met Saturday 4/6/13 (Devin, Austin, Myles, Hannah, Ilija)
Re-cap of the component analysis. Each member presented their findings and discussed possible avenues of action.
Individual motors that Myles selected were made in SolidWorks.
Found a large DC motor that could replace 1 battery
looked through ball screws and selected two possibilities. Companies will be contacted on Monday 4/8. (Devin)
Assembled various configurations in SolidWorks to check size constraints.
Presentation for Wednesday started.
Called into MircoMo (Monday 4/8) to get more information on specific motors & gears (Hannah)
Called into Precision Microdrives (Monday 4/8) for more information on specific motors. (Austin)
Updated Gantt chart uploaded to website
Goals for Next Week (list names after each item). Use specific and measurable objectives.
Receive necessary motors, ball screws and batteries to begin testing our designs.
Talk to Tom about machining motor mounts and possibly new battery pack top plate and upper plate

Dr. Tustaniwskyj suggested us to contact Dr. Jaffe prior to our design proposal presentation and propose our best possible solution regardless of budget. E-mails were exchanged requesting a new meeting time. (4/3/13, in person).
If necessary, water jetting can be performed at Urey Hall for a cost. Currently, there is no need for it. (4/3/13, in person, Dr. Tustaniwskyj)

Risks and Areas of Concern
Some concerns have come up regarding the volume constraints of the CO2 bladder.
Environmental affect of batteries (if corrosion occurs, etc.)

Schedule
Upcoming milestone: Discuss designs with sponsor & order parts accordingly.
Complete Design Proposal presentation for Week 2.
Budget (list amount spent and amount remaining)
$0 spent, $3000 remaining.
Progress on Report and Webpage
Each member uploaded their completed individual analysis to the Reports section of our webpage.
Each member is to complete initial draft of report by Friday.
