Project Objectives
Concisely list and prioritize the project objectives and constraints
High Priority Objectives
Isolated lung chamber
Gas and liquid tubing
All connections (for lung perfusion)
Temperature of water in chamber is controlled (aprrox. 37 deg. Celsius)
Second Priority Objectives
Pressure, temperature and flow rate indicators
WOW Design Solution
All of the priorities are accomplished, plus there is a pressure, temperature and flow rate controller for entire system. All the connections and tubing equipment are condensed into one container. The platform where the lung sits is interchangeable for other organs to be observed.
Risk Reduction Strategy
List areas of risk and strategy that will be used to eliminate risk really in the design process.
Maintaining stability of lung will be risk reduction focus.
Done by fabricating prototype chamber without connections for tubing but with simple clamp design to hold lung in place.
Chicken liver used to imitate lung as it has similar density
Intermediate Milestones
Identifying meaningful intermediate milestones is a critical for effective project management. Together with your sponsor identify such milestones, and specify specific performance requirements you aim to meet at each milestone.
