Overview of Status of Analysis, Design, Fabrication, Tests, etc.
The structure was assembled with all of the fittings and the truss members in place
We are waiting for the sponsors to give the go ahead to move the shaker stand to ATA Engineering so that it may be tested with a shaker attached to it
Slight modifications to the structure had to be made in order for the fittings to fit
Modifications were made to the fittings so that they do not dent the pipes when their set screws are tightened
PVC bushings were incorporated in the fittings design to compensate for the diameter difference between the fitting inner diameter and the tube outer diameter
We are looking to return the feet in exchange for a more flexible foot
Accomplishments from Previous Week
All four of the feet plugs were fabricated
All of the truss members were fabricated and completed
PVC pipes were cut to size and lathed for the fittings
The fittings were secured to the structure with Gorilla Glue Epoxy
1 leg was fully extended to 4.42 meters (14.5') and collapsed in under 2 minutes
The truss members were added to the frame and the box frame was secured to the structure
The structure was fully constructed
The website was updated with a videos and pictures
The Final report was completed

The tubes slide really well with the delrin bushing
Not as heavy as it looks
Replace the hinges with ones that are more secure
Risks and Areas of Concern
Deployment time
the tubes dent and deform easier than expected making us worry about it denting during transportation, use and handling
The hinges are not as operator friendly or convenient as we had hoped
