Overview of Status of Analysis, Design, Fabrication, Tests, etc.
Parts and raw materials for linkage assembly have been ordered.
Design of linkage is under review.
Accomplishments from Previous Week
Decision made between 4Bar and Slider Crank concepts. The team has decided to move forward with the slider crank.
CAD model of Linkage assembly created on SolidWorks.
Measurements of final assembly calculated.
Variable size crank linkages designed.
Goals for Next Week (list names after each item). Use specific and measurable objectives.
Linkage parts machined. Brian
Covering CAD complete, decision made on what material/technique to construct it from. Chase
80/20 Frame Design. Randy
Decision on sensor method, order microcontroller. Chris
Determine what motor specs are necessary, order motor. Meagan
Sponsor Comments from Last Meeting and Actions Taken to Address these Comments
No CAD models of existing bracing products is available for our use. We will have to move forward with the covering design without it.
Instructor Comments from Last Meeting and Actions Taken to Address these Comments
Team should look into strain gauges to measure the torque in the knee. The option is available to create our own torque sensor with a strain gauge array.
Team needs to communicate with sponsor more frequently, specifically when a presentation is given in class. The presentation has been uploaded to the site via PDF and emailed to sponsor.
Team needs to move ahead with design and make a decision regarding actuation. We have chosen the slider crank and a rotary actuation method.
