INTENSIVE ESL 076, Speaking/Listening 4 or 5: Special Topics in Speaking and Listening

Course Description:

Special Topics teaches speaking and listening skills for Level 4 or Level 5 students. It helps students prepare for college work by focusing on global topics such as sustainability and cross-cultural communication. 

In Special Topics in Speaking/Listening, you will:

• learn to understand fast American spoken English (videos, news clips, lectures)

• learn new vocabulary related to your topic

• participate in small group discussions

• do some basic internet research

• give a short (3 – 5 minute) speech

• participate in a class presentation on your topics
