We'll meet twice a month in the same place: Room 309 in Speech and Hearing Science (1131 E 2nd St, Building 71). The time will be 11am-Noon, on the first and third Fridays of each month. This time has the advantage of being right before the Cog Sci Colloquium on Friday in the same building. Room 309 is equipped with 2 48" monitors mounted near the ceiling. HDMI and VGA connectors are available to hook up a laptop for presentation (VGA always works, HDMI is weird). Note the disadvantage of this system is that the images your audience sees are somewhat smaller than if they were projected onto a screen. In addition, you cannot effectively point at the screens with a laser pointer.

April 20 Free Bayesian Statistics Conference: There will be Bayesian sessions (not all brain-related) from around 10-12 and 1-4 or 5. Morning sessions will be held in Pharmacy. Afternoon sessions will be held in the Medical Research Building. From 12-1 there will be a free lunch available to all people registered for the conference. The conference is free as well. (You're just committing to going when you register.) They will try to have the brain + Bayes talk around 11am as this seems convenient for the BMW people. Finally, there will be a brochure available sometime soon (~Mid March), I'll send that out as soon as it becomes available. Thanks to Julia Fisher!
April 26 ARIBI Workshop The Arizona Research Institute for Biomedical Imaging (ARIBI) is hosting its 2118 workshop on Thursday April 26th from 12:45 pm to 5 PM at the University of Arizona. Two oral sessions will be in the Medical Research Building (Room 102) in the BIO5 Complex. The purpose of the workshop is to highlight current research focused on the application of advanced imaging approaches to biomedical problems.
April 30 Free TMS Workshop! Please RSVP: seating limited Checkin 9:30am; 10 am to 2pm Workshop. Keating Room 103
The purpose of this workshop is to make Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) research more tractable to members of the UA scientific community and to facilitate UA-wide and inter-institutional collaboration on TMS-related projects for submission of extramural proposals.
The workshop will include introduction to TMS, theta bust stimulation, panel discussion, lunch, and TMS Laboratory tour. This workshop is designed for psychologists, biomedical engineers, neurologists, psychiatrists, and researchers who wish to enhance their knowledge of TMS and related brain stimulation techniques.
Speakers include Ying-Zu Huang, MD., PhD (Developer of theta burst stimulation for human non-invasive magnetic brain stimulation) and U of A researchers who incorporate TMS/TBS in their studies.
Tour: Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation Laboratory (BSRL Room 062)
Please contact Ying-hui Chou (yinghuichou@email.arizona.edu), Director of Brain Imaging and TMS Laboratory if you have any questions. Lunch is provided to the first 40 Registrants
