Background of the Program
Junior Lancers tennis began in 2017, and now we are proud to bring you Senior Lancers tennis. The aim of this program is to continue the development of players at Brookfield Central so that they can continue to improve their skills in a fun, competitive and educational atmosphere. Camp is open to all players who are entering 9th through 12th grade next school year.

Coaches
Coach Jesse Perez
Coach Jesse Perez has been with Brookfield Central since summer 2020. Coach Perez began his tennis career at Larkin High School, playing 3 years of tennis - two of which on varsity. As a senior, Perez qualified for the Illinois High School State Tournament. Coach Perez played 4 years of college tennis on scholarship at Judson University. In 2012, Judson qualified for the NCCAA Tournament. From 2009-2015, Perez assistant coached high school boy’s & girls tennis at Larkin High School, all ages at the Elgin Country Club, and gave private lessons to players of all ages and skill levels throughout the Elgin area. In 2015, Coach Perez moved to Milwaukee to begin a career in teaching and currently teaches at Pathways High in Milwaukee. In 2015, Coach Perez continued giving private lessons in the Milwaukee area and in 2020 joined Brookfield Central to coach the Lancers. Perez worked with the Varsity and Junior Varsity girls teams, but spent most of the season coaching the Freshman girls.
Christian was a one time state qualifier and a 3-time varsity letter winner, and one of the more successful doubles players the Lancers have had in recent memory. He and his partners registered many key wins for the Lancers, and Christian developed a devastatingly powerful serve during his tenure. During his senior year Christian qualified for the state tournament in doubles, and made it to the second round. Christian ranks 89th on the Brookfield Central Boys Tennis all time wins list with 42, and regularly won Greater Metro Conference all academic honors.

Coach Greg Venci
Jacob was a three time varsity letter winner for the BC Boys Tennis team that finished runner up during his sophomore and junior years in the toughest sectional in the state. His senior year was cut short, and despite that loss of a year, he finished just one win short of the 30-win club at BC. Jacob also played some varsity matches as a freshman. He worked with both Junior and Senior Lancers players last summer teaching private lessons, and we are thrilled to have him as part of our team this summer.
Coach Venci rejoins the Lancer coaching staff after previously working with the program for seven years. He has coached as an assistant for the varsity, the junior/senior teams and the freshman team as well. His teams have consistently won tournaments and invitationals, and his private lesson coaching has been utilized by dozens of players over that time frame. He comes with a wealth of experience running teams, summer programs, leading youth tennis and developing skills for student athletes.
Coach Ike Hamilton
Competition
Ike joined the Lancer coaching staff in 2018, and has been an integral part of our success ever since. He has coached the freshman boys team team, the sophomore girls team and during the 2019-2020 season, will lead the boys junior-senior team. Coach Hamilton has built a successful following with his positive attitude and focus on teamwork, togetherness and effort.
