TRACKING THINKING

Mini Lesson:

• Watch the read aloud of How the Grinch Stole Christmas by Dr. Seuss above.

• Track your thinking as you watch and listen.

Main Activity

• Independent Reading of a fiction text for at least 30 minutes - use a book from home or find one on Epic! Books.

• Track your thinking as you read.

Then do one of these options:

• More independent reading

• Work on your reading goal

• Create a new Reader's Notebook Entry

PERSUASIVE LETTER

Mini Lesson:

• Watch the short video The Book of Butterflies by Michael Leunig.

Main Activity:

• Write a description of the video, using as many adjectives and interesting phrases as you can.

Then do one of these options:

• Independent writing

• Work on your writing goal

• Create a Writer's Notebook Entry
