Using Minecraft for Geography has been so much fun. Through using Minecraft I learnt about Urban Growth, Urban sprawl and Urban Renewal. In our class Minecraft world Kate and I built the Hotel. Through building this I learnt about building resources and realised that you need specific items in order to build the product realistically. The aim of the world was to build a sustainable city which meant our hotel had roads, a healthy vegetable patch and rooms for all family sizes. Being able to build a hotel with Kate and learn in a fun, interactive way has made Geography so much more enjoyable. Building a sustainable city in Minecraft has taught me that cities aren't just built overnight, they take months of planning and years to build. I have also learnt that cities are more complicate that I initially thought, you need houses, schools, hospitals, hotels and so much more and all these need to be set out in a specific way connected by roads.
Overall I found Minecraft education edition to be a fun, educational resource for learning about Urban Growth and Decline in Geography.
