East Mountain High School is hosting it's small school invitational cross country meet on Saturday, September 28, 2019. We have a 1.5 mile trail in the woods behind our school. It will be two lap challenging dirt course. There are several rolling hills and longer straight-aways, but one big hill that will be in the middle of the race and again at the end. It will begin and end on a soccer field and funnel into a wide dirt path. Also, be aware that EMHS is at 7,000 feet in elevation. Overall, the path makes a very good cross country running trail.
East Mountain High School and the trail are located just 15 miles east of Albuquerque, on North Highway 14, near the Sandia Ski Slopes. Please drop off runners by the field, but parking is available for larger vehicles in the lot at the school which is just to the West of the field and off to the right of La Madera Road.
There will be a $25 fee for each gender competing to pay for the awards and supplies for the meet ($50 total for a boys and girls team for all levels). The schedule will be as follows:
8:00 am – T'Wolf Trail Run/Walk (Open Community Run)
8:30 am – Coaches Meeting (In Gym Lobby)
9:00 am – Boys Varsity
9:45 am – Girls Varsity
10:30 am – Combined JV Race (numbers will dictate whether the races are split by gender)*
11:15 am – Combined Mid School Boys and Girls Race*
11:45 am – Awards Ceremony**
*Combined Races may be split based on numbers TBD @ Coaches Meeting
**After final race there will be an awards ceremony.

VARSITY AWARDS
• Top 2 varsity teams will receive a trophy (1st and 2nd Place Boys and Girls).
• Top 5 varsity individuals will receive a medal.
• 6th – 15th place in varsity will receive a ribbon.
JV AWARDS
• Top JV Team will receive a trophy (1st Place only)
• Top 5 JV individuals will receive a medal.
• 6th – 15th place in JV will receive a ribbon.
MID SCHOOL AWARDS
• Top 2 Mid School teams will receive a trophy (1st and 2nd Boys and Girls)
• Top 5 Mid School will receive a medal
• 6th – 15th place will receive a ribbon
