FUNDATIONS

Fundations is the program that we use to teach spelling and phonics in 2nd grade. This program is research-based and is meant to be taught systematically with explicit instruction. This program is different than many traditional spelling programs because it teaches students how to spell (and read) words through knowledge and application of spelling rules, not simply by memorization. The spelling rules that the students will learn will help them in both reading and writing. This program will help our students to ‘unlock the code’ of the English language and become more confident readers and writers!
