CLASS DOJO

This year, I will be using Class Dojo as a tool for classroom communication. Class Dojo is often used as a classroom behavior management tool, but I would like to use it more for its communication component. Class Dojo has a ‘Stories’ option which will enable me to share photographs, videos, documents, and messages with you digitally. What is especially nice and convenient is that Class Dojo has a free app that can be downloaded for easy use. The ‘stories’ and announcements that I post will be shown on a continual feed that become cumulative and are automatically archived for you to scroll through at your convenience.

Please be assured that Class Dojo is secure and the virtual classroom community that I have created for our class is accessible to only the students and families in our class. You will need to sign up using a unique code to gain access to our classroom community and to your child’s student account. Once you sign up, you will be able to see our ‘Class Stories,’ receive the class messages that I send out, and also message me directly.

I hope that you will consider signing up for Class Dojo as I think it will be a valuable tool for us to use and a place for us to share the fun and learning that is happening in our classroom and school! As I mentioned above, I’d like to include photographs and videos of the students in our class in our ‘Class Stories’ from time to time, but want to make sure that you are comfortable with it before I do. There will be a letter coming home at the beginning of the school year to give your permission for your child to be included in photographs and videos posted on our ‘Class Stories.’ You will also be receiving a paper with instructions on how to sign up for Class Dojo as parents must use a unique sign up code to link to their students Class Dojo accounts. Please keep an eye out for them! In the mean time, here is a link to some information about Class Dojo in case you are unfamilar with it.
