1. Scope and Sequence

The Scope and Sequence of the curriculum is the order in which the standards are introduced throughout the four Modules. The domains of the ELA Common Core State Standards are distributed in a logical progression. Each Module introduces a part of each domain: Foundational Skills, Comprehension, Vocabulary, Language, Writing, Speaking and Listening.

Fifth Grade

For grades K-2, all PA Core Standards are grouped across all 4 Modules balancing a gradual release within each literacy domain.

For grades 3-5, all eligible content is grouped in the first three Modules-before PSSAs, and Module 4 is a review of more complex skills and other PA Core Standards.
