Welcome to the Eagle Pass Junior High School Library webpage. We are proud of our library and hope our students will use it often for their reading and research needs. Here are some things you might want to know about our library.
Our library opens at 8:00 a.m. and closes at 4:30 p.m. Any student may come to the library without a pass in the morning, 8:00 a.m. – 8:30 a.m., during their lunch period, and 4:00 p.m. - 4:30 p.m. However, all students must bring a hall pass when visiting the library throughout the day or between classes.
Students may check out two books at a time for a period of two weeks. Students will check out books using their ID number. Students may NOT check out books for another student. A book may be renewed once, unless another person has requested the book or if the student has overdue book(s). Please note: At this time, reference books, periodicals, and technology may not be borrowed for home use.
We charge (.05¢) five cents a day for overdue books (excluding holidays and weekends).
If books are damaged or lost, we will assess a fine up to the price of replacing the book.
Computer Use: Internet access is limited to assigned classwork. We do have printers for students to use for classwork and projects only.
When visiting the library, students are expected to read, study, read magazines, or look for books quietly and to respect the rules of the school as well as those specific to the library.
The library’s rules are:
Food, drink, and gum are NOT allowed in the library.
Backpacks and zipper bags are NOT allowed in the library.
A quiet, courteous atmosphere must be maintained.
Students who disregard the rules will be asked to return to their classrooms, and their checkout privileges may be restricted. The students, faculty, and staff of our school share the responsibility of maintaining an environment that allows the library to serve the needs of all.
We look forward to seeing you in the library.
Happy Reading!!!
