DECA is a Career & Technical Student Organization (CTSO) specifically for students enrolled in Career & Technical Education (CTE) programs. DECA prepares emerging leaders and entrepreneurs pursuing careers in marketing finance, hospitality, and management. Chartered by the California Department of Education, DECA brings classroom learning to life through a robust mix of classroom curriculum tools, career development competitions, recognition programs, partnership opportunities and leadership growth experiences. DECA students leverage their experience to become academically prepared, community oriented, professionally responsible, experienced leaders.

DECA membership is optional, although all enrolled students will participate in DECA activities and projects at some level. Qualifying members have the option of participating in DECA’s conferences and academic competitive event programs throughout the year in a variant of locations at the local, state and international level.

All students who participate in leadership, regional, district, state, and international conferences must be enrolled in or previously enrolled in a Career Technical Education (CTE) class, in good standing with the school including citizenship, attendance, grades, and teacher recommendation. This program provides an excellent opportunity for educational enrichment, leadership development and personal growth. Participation also looks great on college applications and resumes.
