The DOGS outings will be Stableford competitions run in two grades, where the field is split into two halves by handicap.
There will be cash prizes for first and second places in each grade. In the event of equal scores the prize money will be equally divided and there will be no count backs to decide rankings.
Prize money will depend on the size of the field. 5% to 10% of the nomination fees will be withheld in the DOGS kitty to be spent over the bar on the final round of the year, along with major prizes for Dog of the Year.
DOG of the year will be decided using a system of accumulated points. Top Score will receive 100 DoY points and each subsequent ranking will receive two points less, so 98 points for second, 96 for third, etc. In the case of equal scores the points will be added and then divided equally. For example, if two players tie for top score then both will receive 99 DoY points. If there are 5 players tied on 32 points starting at 9th place, then DoY points will be (84+82+80+78+76) ÷ 5 = 80 points each.
The DOG of the Year will be decided by the best six DoY points scored for the year. In the event of a tie the winner will be decided by including the seventh best score.
